I want to help California's working families and small businesses as a member of the State Board of Equalization.  The State Board of Equalization ensures that county property tax assessments are equal throughout the state.

The Board administers sales and use taxes, property taxes, special taxes and the tax appeal program that annually yields nearly $42 billion.  These funds are critical to providing essential services like education, health, environmental protection and public safety programs for the people of California.

I am proud to be supported by over 200 federal, state and local elected officials, including the incumbent John Chiang as well as Sheriff Lee Baca, Congresswoman Hilda Solis, Mayor-elect Antonio Villaraigosa, Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez and Assembly Member Mark Ridley-Thomas.

I am the first woman to be elected to this seat.  It encompasses a large area, nearly all of Los Angeles County, and there is much work to do.

That's why I need your help today.

You donation of $50, $75 or $100 will help me be financially strong enough to resist pressure from special interests and fight for the interests of regular taxpayers and small businesses.

With your generous financial support, I will continue to be able to help California's working families and small businesses as a member of the State Board of Equalization.

Thank you again for your friendship and support!
